Flowers & Butterflies

STILL SNOWING!!!!! Grrr! :)

I want to feel like spring. I really do! But it is really hard when the white stuff just keeps coming. I so want to open my windows and let some fresh air in, but not going to happen today! At least this little card LOOKS like spring!

I love this retired Stampin' Up set-Summer by the Sea. The images are so cute. As much as I love to color, I love to paper piece this set. First I stamped the image on white Crafter's Companion cardstock, then on a piece of American Crafts design paper. I colored the girl and the ground with Copics, filled in the sky with chalks and added some Stickles to the flowers. I then fussy cut the dress and glued over the image. I stamped just the hat part of the image onto a scrap of brown K&Co. Classic K DP and glued in place. I cut out the image with Spellbinders Labels 11, then traced around the die onto a piece of Bazzil Rain cardstock and fussy cut. The background stripe paper and the flowers are from MME Happy Day 6x6 pad. I punched the flowers with a Paper Studio flower punch, brushed them with some Pebbles Classic chalk to deepen the color, dry brushed some Momento Teal Zeal ink and defined the edges with Momento Teal Zeal marker. Layered 2 together and used yellow brads to secure them together. Greenery is punched with the Martha Stewart fern punch. I love the silver edged butterfly, but the packaging is long gone, so I really don't know what the brand is-I wish I did, because I'd like some more of them:)
This card will be for my granddaughter's 20th birthday. I am entering it in the following challenges: The Crafty Cardmakers #114-a profusion of handmade flowers; Addicted to Stamps & More #91-Anything Goes; Fab 'n' Funky #212-Flower Power; Coffee, Chocolate & Cards#62-Yipes Stripes; and Sweet Stamping Challenge-Flowers. Whew, I think this is the most challenges one of my cards has ever worked for, hehehe.

Enjoy! Always love to have you comment.
