Copy Cat Challange -FLLCJUL02

This is for the Flourishes 'Noon Time Challange". The challagne was to CASE a card by one of the design team members.  Here is the card by Heather Jenson that I CASEd. Her blog is here : http://simplyhandmadebyheather.blogspot.com/.
Thanks Heather for the inspiration!
And here is the card I made. The image is from Flourishes 'A Year in Flowers 2' set-Tiger Lily. The DP (except the brown stripe background which is from my scrap box), the cardstock and ribbon are  SU. I colored the image with Prisma colored pencil-the Gamasol technique. The scallop border is a Martha Stewart punch, and the Image and backing, were cut with spellbinders circles and petite scalloped circles.

Mimosa on fence

I made this for the Create 4 Fun challange. I used this new Bildmalarna stamp-Mimosa on fence- for the image. Colores for the challange were red, pink and neutral (white here). I colored the image with Copic markers, and then clear embossed the flower Pot and the watering can. I added some little stickers for buttons on here shirt. then I cut her out with an oval Spellbinders and edged the oval with red stickles, as well as some stickles on the flowers, and the borders were done with a martha Stewart punch. The DP are from My Minds Eye,  I added a couple little layered butterflies. The image is popped up with foam dots, and then I inserted a spellbinders tag I cut i half for the accent. Ovarall I think she turned out okay!

Best wishes cards

Summer has finally arived in the UP, at least for a couple of days. We've had so much rain that everything is green and lush, including the weeds! Some really pretty wild flowers around right now, too (if I call them wildflowers I don't have to weed them out, right? )
I have a couple cards today that I made for some challanges.
The first is for Stamp TV Free for all Friday- the challange this week is to CASE the design team. This week the designer picked to CASE is AJ. Here is the link to the card I CASEd http://stamptv.ning.com/photo/img5209-1
I followed the basic design she used, but changed the image and paper colors. in place of the pearls I added the butterflies, and added gold pearls to their centers. I also added some 'bling' in the form of stickles on the roses, the sparkly pink ribbon and the little gold corner sticker. I really like this layout and will surely use it again often. Thanks, AJ, for the design!
The second card I have for today I made  for the Stamping 411 challange, and I just realized I can't enter it because it's not all Stampin Up products. Darn! Anyway I like how the card turned out, and will use it for my friends birthday, so all is not lost. I will have to try again for the S411 challange:)

Hello Again!

Can't believe it has been a month since I last posted something on here. It has been a busy month, finishing up our home improvment project, then getting in a bit of gardening before we left town for 10 days. We have been home for 5 days, and it has taken me that long to take care of everything from the trip and get our home back to somewhat normal.
The trip included visits to several craft and scrapbook stores :D, where I of course went overboard. But hey, we only have Michaels (35 miles away) and a minsicule JoAnns (nearly 60 miles), so I had to take advantage of being right in the neighborhood of some really big Mikes and Jo's, right? I had lots of fun putting that stuff away and drooling over my finds!
I have not had much time to work on my crafts in that time, but I did get this card made for a bridal shower that I attended today.

For the focal image I used the new DP by LilyBee that I got at Archivers. It's a 6x6 pad with nice little prints that work well for cards. The piece already had the flowers and script on it. The lower floral piece is from K&Co. I CBd the yellow with SU's Elegant Lines folder. The focal is cut out with Spellbinders rectangles, matted on purple cut with Spellbinders scallop rectangles. I made the flowers with Marvy punches and the LB papers, and the leaves were Martha Stewart Rose leaf punch, which I added lines to with a stylus. I added small purple rhinestones and a purple ribbon bow from my stash. The sentiment is a HOTP stamp, and I cut it out with CB tag die. I chalked around the edges of the tag and the focal with Pebbles chalks. The bride loved the card.
Thanks for stopping by.

Count Your Blessings

I made this card to enter into the Our Daily Bread Designs Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD35)! The assignment is Our Daily Bread Design stamps.
The challenge this rotation is FRAME it out in TEXTURE! I'm not sure this acutally fits the assignment, as I only have the little spellbinders tags behind my focal. But I do like the way this turned out.

I used patterend papers from Graphic 45 'Once upon a Springtime', both for the background and for the flowers. The card stock is SU.The sentiment is from ODB Blessings set, stamped on Cream cardstock with Versamark and I used Stampendous Chocolate Brown embossing powder and heat embossed. It is cut out with Spellbinders label 14, I then traced around the die to cut the pink frame to back.
I used Pebble chalk to frome it.  I then cut out with green using the Fancy TAgs Spellbinders, then cut that in half and used it behind the sentiment to 'frame' it. The flowers were cut with Marvy flower punches and layerd. I used Tiara Stickles for the centers and brushed on some Waterfall stickles on the center petals and on the edges of the other petals. The leaves and the corner accent are cut with and ek success punch. I tied a cream/gold thread ribbon to finish it  off. Inside the card are some more tiny pink flowers, and I stamped the 'Wishing you a year of blessings'.

Plaid or gingham

Another beautiful, typical UP spring day. Sun is shining and the North wind is blowing and it is only about 40 degrees outside, but feels more like about 30 or colder. Gives me another excuse to stay inside and play!

The challenge for Our Daily Bread Shining the Light #61 this week was to use plaid or gingham. This card was just meant to be made. I had just received this stamp set. And I also had been sorting out and organizing my papers, and these plaid, striped and dotted papers from Hot off the Press (that I got when I first started paper crafting about 4 years ago) were on my table. So I just had to use them together for this challenge.
The card base is made from Kraft paper. I stamped the shirt on the plaid with stazon timber brown, and the tie on the dotted papers and then cut them out. I embossed the blue with a stars folder from Crafts, too, used TH distress ink to shade the edges and taped the shirt to that. I added a strip of the striped paper to the middle of the card base, then adhered the blue panel over that. I stamped the sentiment on orange card and cut it out with the Spellbinders tag die. I tied it on with some brown cord.

A crazy Sunday afternoon

It has been an interesting Sunday. Yucky, humid/misty this morning (was a bit of a damp walk to church, even more humid and damp walk home-made for an interesting hair day), got dark and rained hard about 2pm, sun came out for the afternoon, then it clouded up and rained again. Since it was too wet to work outside, I went and played in my craft room :) , after I hung a few more things on the walls, that is. I will get everything back up eventually.

Made this card from one of the K and Company Summer Scrap stack. The sentiment is from Our Daily bread stamps stamped with Mediterainen blue Brilliance Dew drop, which I framed out with small frame from a Sizzix A2 embossing folder . The butterflies are also from the K&C pad. I heat embossed them and added some glitter to the second round of embossing. I added some clear rhinestones to the centers of them, and some silver pearls for the flight trail. Also added some white ribbon and a silver ribbon slide. I also added some silver corner stickers and some of the little silver swirls from one of the sticker sheets (one of the 'innies').

Hope everyone had a nice weekend, Jackie
