Boy Birthday card

I finally got around to making that 3rd masculine card I needed this week. This one is for my 11 year old grandson. I am entering it in the challenge at Pals Paper Arts-PPA129, a sketch challenge this time around. Am also entering it over at Crazy4Challenges -- C4C124 . The challenge there was to have stripes and polka dots on your card/project.  Here is the PPA  sketch

 And here is my card.

The solid cardstock is Recollections. The DP is American Crafts 'Tea Party'. It's paper I've had for quite awhile (got on clearence at Mike's-of course). I used Spellbinders Ric-Rack Edgeabilities on the second layer. The blue strip was laying on my table, and it worked just right for the band across the top layer. I just turned the middle of the sketch upside down. I stamped the sentiment (SU Happiest Birthday Wishes set) on white cardstock with Versamagic Red Magic ink, dusted with clear embossing powder and heat embossed. I cut it out with Spellbinders  and chalked around with Pebbles chalks before taking it out of the die. The balloons I cut out with a cuttlebug die in several different patterns. I sponged the edges of the balloons and the sentiment label with the red ink. The bird is cut out of one of the DP from the same pack. I used a piece of WRMemory Keepers Bakers Twine for the string on the balloons. The 11 is also cut with a cuttlebug die. I added some Stampendous Class-a-peel round stickers to the top balloon.

Here is the inside of the card.

I added some more balloons to the inside, for a total of 11 balloons on the card. I used 2 of the sentiments from Verve 'Big Wish' stamp set for the inside. His birthday was last week, but my daughter is having his party this weekend-hence it will be late!
Hopefully will have some more to post later this week. Thanks for looking!
