Wishing you well

Another fall card, this time a Get well card. I'm getting this in just under the wire for the I Spy Sketches ISSC33.   I will also enter this in the Papertake Weekly Challenge.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card.

I stamped the image in Memento Rich Cocoa. However, as I colored this image LAST YEAR, I don't know what colors I used. It was on a sheet of cardstock in with my fall papers and stamped with a bunch of different fall images. (I always note on the back of a stamped image what exactly I stamped that image with, just in case I don't get it colored up right away).

Stamps: SU 'Happy Fall Y'All', Verve 'Wonderful Wishes
Ink:  Memento Rich Cocoa, SU Really Rust
DP: DCWV Cafe Mediterrnean
CS: Bazzil Foundations, Smooth Lace; SU Old Olive
Accessories: Spellbinders Classic Ovals small, Big Scalloped Ovals Sm; Memento Marker 'Potters Clay'; Yarn Copic Markers

Autumn Sympathy

We are in the midst of a week of rainy cold windy autumn weather. I should be cleaning or doing something constructive, but it's too gloomy to even get motivated. I'd rather sit and play with all the pretty papers-always cheers me up..
The card I have for this post is using the sketch from Sweet n' Sassy Stamps 'Sweet Stop Sketch challenge #176' The spin on the sketch today was 'Welcome Fall'. I pulled out this leaf pattern paper from Stampin' Up. I don't know what the papers were called. I've had them awhile. I found myself in need of a masculine Sympathy card recently and did not have a single one in my stash. So I am focused on make a few to have on hand

Stamps: Sweet N' Sassy Bridge of Hope, Serene Silhouettes
Ink: Versa Color Lapis Lazuli, Versa Magic Wheat, Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Spellbinders Fluer de Lis Rectangles, Classic Rectangles, Recollections glitter domes, ribbon

Now I really have to go get some work done-at least unload the dishwasher! Toodles for now

Stamping lesson learned

I'm always amazed at the obvious things that I miss or neglect to do. Like in this first card I have today. I learned that when you create a sponged background, always make sure the ink is completely dry before you stamp over it-dah! If you don't wait, your stamped image will run. I will include both attempts so you can see the difference. I will enter this in the 'Clean and Simple' sketch challenge #207 over at Clean and Simple Stamping.

I took a piece of scrap cardstock and cut a rectangle out of it with Spellbinders Classic Rectangles. I used that as a mask to sponge ink onto the card base-Memento Tangelo, Desert Sand & Pistachio. I then stamped the tree image (Inkadinkado Doodle Fall clear set)  in Memento Rich Cocoa over that. I stamped the sentiment from Verve "Love Story' with the Tangelo ink. Now I have a really hard time leaving all that white space-my mind just wants to add something to that area, like maybe some sparkly gems, or a flourish or something. But I can see that this would be handy for a quick card in a pinch. So I will leave it as is-I think ;)

Here is the pic of the first attempt to make this card. You can see how the ink from the stamped image bled out in certain spots. Not allllll that bad, but not as crisp an image as it should be.

So, when I use this technique again, I will make sure the sponged area is dry before I proceed.

Scarecrow 4U

Another fall themed card for you today. The sketch is from I (heart)2stamp the September sketch challenge and I will also enter it in the Crazy4Challenges C4C154 challenge, 'anything goes with a fall twist'.

 sept2012sketch

I stamped the scarecrow from Inkadinkado clear set 'Doodle Fall' on Bazzil Simply Smooth White cardstock with Staz-on Black ink and colored it with Prisma Colored pencils and i also used Copic markers in a couple places. I cut the image out with Spellbinders Scrapyland exclusive Wide Beveled Ovals. I then traced around the die on Bazzill Mudpie cardstock and fussy cut. I sponged some Old Paper Distress ink around the image cut while it was still in the die. The dotted paper is from Echo Park Sweet Summertime Flower Garden, and the orange is Bo Bunny Hello Sunshine. I ran the Old Olive (SU) cardstock through my Cuttlebug with the CheeryLyn Autumn Leaves embossing plate. It doesn't give a really deep impresion, so is a little hard to see here. I added some Stickles to the hat band and knee patches of the scarecrow, and gold stickers for the 'sentiment'.

For the inside of the card I stamped the corn image from the same stamp set in the bottom corner with Memento Rich Cocoa.  I stamped the verse from Stampendous Birthday Assortment clear stamps with rich cocoa ink. I cut out verse and the mat with the Spellbinders SLE wide ovals and sponged around it with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink. I cut the mat from the same cardstock as the green on the outside; I know here it looks like a different color, but it's the same-even embossed it with the same plate!
Thanks for looking. Comments are always welcome. Ta ta for now! Hee, hee.

Basket of Fall leaves

Beautiful autumn day here, if a bit on the warm side. Nice breeze-great for drying sheets on the line! They smell soooooooooooo good when you make your bed! No excuse to stay inside and craft, so just taking a little time to post this card today.

Not sure I like exactly how this one turned out. And now seeing it on the computer I know why it just didn't seem right to me-The 2 BIG green circles! They should have been on opposite sides! And maybe I should have mounted the basket on some kind of a background. Oh well, it is what it is, I guess-I know if I try to change out the panels I'll mess it up. I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches (below). I will also enter this in the Tuesday Throwdown#115 (use gems in your artwork), and Jay  Gee's Nook challenge #23  using this inspiration grouping(below). While the colors of the dots are not the same colors as the inspiration photo, as soon as I saw the IP, I thought of this paper. Works for me!
Anywhooooo- It's pretty simple. I love this new 6x6 paper pad I picked up from Echo Park-Sweet Summertime-Flower Garden-such pretty papers. I cut the panels out with Spellbinders Classic Labels small & large. The basket of leaves-I have no idea where I got that. It's a diecut, and I'm thinking it's made with a Cuttlebug or Sizzix die and the leaves are a punch. I added some lines to the basket with a Memento Rich cocoa marker to give the basket some dimension. Also added some Stickles to the leaves for sparkle-Maybe it's frost on them ;). I stamped the sentiment from Sweet n' Sassy Stamps Happy Birthday Words with Versamark and added MS Ebony embossing powder. I embossed the yellow strips with a Cuttlebug folder (have no idea the name-it's one of the first ones I bought way back when I started all this crazyness!). I added three rhinestones to balance it out.

Okay, time to go take the sheets off the line and start supper! Yup, I have to cook again! Man, if only we didn't have to cook & eat, just think of all the time we could spend crafting!!!

Autumn Birthday

Another Autumn birthday card. Lots of Autumn inspiration beginning to show up outdoors. Trees are changing color, nights are cooler (thank heaven), and the part I least like about Autumn-the days are getting shorter.

Today I am entering this card in:  Let's capture these sketches #30, which is the way I started on this card (sketch above). I will also enter it in Color Throwdown #209 and fab N Funky#138, anything to do with Harvest Festival. I'm thinking the Harvest Festival in Britain is simuliar to the county/state fairs here in the states-displaying goods from the harvest. I chose this Stampendous stamp of a birdhouse with sunflowers and pumkins, and of course, fall leaves, are symbols of fall around here in the northern midwest USA.

The image is stamped on Beckett Expression White with Momento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic Markers. I cut  it out with Spellbinders Label 6, sponged around it in the die with Scattered Straw Distress Ink. I then traced around the die on SU Old Olive and fussy cut to mat the image. I popped it up with foam dots.
Stamps: Stampendous 'Sunny Birdhouse'; sentiment Sweet n' Sassy Birthday expressions.
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
DP: DCWV Autumn Mat stack;  SU (gold background-don't know what it's name is).
Cardstock: SU Chocolate chip, Old Olive, REally Rust
Accessories: Spellbinders label 6, Ribbon banners; Copic Markers, CTMH sponge

Birthday Cake, candles-oh my

Was hoping to get this on earlier today, but had to shut down computer because we were having lots of thunder and lightening. Didn't get hardly any rain, though.
So, this card is for the Color throw down challenge 207 here. I will also enter it in these cchallenges:  Crafty Cardmakers challenge #74  -winged things; Flutterby Wednesday 203-decorate the inside of your card; the Pink Elephant #164-use patterned paper.

The image I used is Stampavie-Happy Day. I stamped it with Memento Rich cocoa on Neenah Solar White CS and colored it with Copic Markers. I added some Pebbles chalk to her cheeks, and for the glow around the candles. I cut her out with Spellbinders Label 17, the traced around the same die on a scrap of orange cardstock and fussy cut it for the mat. I added some Stardust Stickles for some 'Glitz'.
The DPs are from DCWV Nana' Nursery-Baby Girl, perfect colors for this challenge. All the solid mats are cut from scraps from my scrap basket. I cut the butterflies out with Cheery Lynn Exotic Mini Butterflies, and the flower is cut with Spellbinders Carnation Creations dies. I added some Cinnamon Stickles to the body of teh butterfly on teh front and soem Stardust stickles to the wings, adn a bit around the top layer on the flower.   The Happy birthday sentiment is part of a gold HB-day border sticker.
And here is the inside. The verse is computer generated. The verse and mat (DWCV) were cut with Spellbinders Labels 17, and the butterfly with Cheery Lynn exotic mini butterfly die.
